SUJARO Railwoods Collection Large Square Bowl

Origin: South Africa
Composition: recycled antique railroad ties

The large square bowl is a bit of an understatement, as well as a paradox. How can one have a square bowl? And it is certainly more than just large; you’ll need a strongman on call to haul this part platter, part bowl from kitchen to dining room. I can’t imagine needing a bigger square bowl. When you aren’t serving the masses, it can also do other great things around the domicile. Why not pile a collection of mercury glass ornaments in it year round, or perhaps winter squash piled in a festive arrangement? My old friend Mary has a pre-Columbian bowl that her Persian cat insists sleeping in. She merely shrugs it off, and smiles, why shouldn’t everyone have such a bed?

The large square bowl is not to be ignored. It commands to be utilized in a grand fashion, and sit prominently at the center of any table, adorned with the fruits of season, a salad for 25 of your closest friends, or possibly fill it with enough candy at Halloween to insure you won’t run out in the middle of the festivities. Imagine if you will, the doyenne of household living (we won’t use names) stops by to borrow a cup of sugar, and spies this massive centerpiece. She employs you to give up your source, as she must have one herself. Just tell her it is one of a kind, and you have the only one! You will forever remain as a true ally to her sources. Imagine your neighbors finding out you out did the countess of home couture!

The SUJARO Railwoods collection is handcrafted from antique recycled railroad ties that were laid in South Africa in the 1800s. Handcrafted from ancient virgin hardwoods originally selected for density, strength, and resistance to extreme weather, these beautiful items are made from a truly precious resource, creating one-of-a-kind craftsman quality furnishings and accessories. Brought directly from the railways of Africa to your home!
